khofmannKevin Hofmann is the biracial son, of a white mother and black father. Kevin was immediately placed in a foster home and adopted by a white Lutheran minister, his white wife and their three white children.

A life of black and white, radically fractured Detroit had no such thing as diverse neighborhoods. Rising from these struggles is an inspiring story of a transracial family who grew up in one of the most racially volatile cities in America and survived.

Now married to his beautiful wife, Shilease with two sons of his own, he hopes to help encourage transracial families by sharing his experiences through humor and naked honesty.

bpostAnd finally we will cap Adoption Awareness month with me, Bryan Post on Nov. 24th at 9pm EST. I'll be sharing my personal story of adoption along with that of my sister. The struggle, the pain, the hope, the failures, and ultimately the love that saw us through.

* The crucial role of fathers.
* The urgent need to focus on a child's strengths rather than his weaknesses
* Why kids seem to "target" Moms the most

DJ and LauraDJ was loved and raised by Don and Laura. Although he became a part of their family at just 15 months old, he never forgot his biological family, and always asked about his sister. At 17 years old, with the love and support of his adoptive parents, DJ was finally given the opportunity to meet his biological family. DJ and his mom will share their experiences of talking about the biological family while growing up, the decision to search for them, and the unexpected results.

bonus_seal_greenJust announced!  We are adding two bonus recordings: One on "post-adoption blues" and one on loving ways to handle difficult and extreme behaviors!
